आपो हि ष्ठा मयोभुवस्था न ऊर्जे दधातन ।
महे रणाथ चक्षसे ॥१॥
āpo hi ṣṭhā mayobhuvasthā na ūrje dadhātana .
mahe raṇātha cakṣase ..1..
1.1: O Water, because of your presence, the Atmosphere is so refreshing, and imparts us with vigour and strength.
1.2: We revere you who gladdens us by your Pure essence.
4.1: O Water, may the auspicious divinity which is wished for be present in you when we drink (water).
4.2: May the auspiciousness which supports you, flow to us.
अप्सु मे सोमो अब्रवीदन्तर्विश्वानि भेषजा ।
अग्नि च विश्वशंभुवम् ॥६॥
apsu me somo abravīdantarviśvāni bheṣajā .
agni ca viśvaśaṃbhuvam ..6..
6.1: O Water, Soma told me that in Water is present all Medicinal Herbs of the World,
6.2: and also Agni (Fire) who brings auspiciousness to the World.
idamāpaḥ pra vahata yatkiṃ ca duritaṃ mayi .
yadvāhamabhidudroha yadvā śepa utānṛtam ..8..
8.1: O Water, please wash away whatever wicked tendencies are in me,
8.2: and also wash away the treacheries burning me from within, and any falsehood present in my Mind.
9.1: O Water, today, to you who is pervaded by fine Rasa I came,
9.2: I deeply enter (i.e. bathe) in you who is pervaded by Agni ; May that Agni produce lustre in me.
1.1: Om, I praise Agni who is the Purohita (Priest) of the Yagya as well as its Ritvij; the Yagya which is directed towards the Devas,
1.2: Who is the Hotara and the bestower of Ratna.
5.1: Agni is the Hota (Invoker) who is Far-Sighted (with Wisdom) and is uniquely Famed for sticking to the Truth,
5.2: May that Deva (Agni) come here with the Gods.
satyaṃ bṛhadṛtamugraṃ dīkṣā tapo brahma yajñaḥ pṛthivīṃ dhārayanti .
sā no bhūtasya bhavyasya patnyuruṃ lokaṃ pṛthivī naḥ kṛṇotu ..1..
1.1: The Truth (Satyam), the Cosmic Divine Law (Ritam), the Spiritual Passion manifested in Mighty Initiations,
Penances and self dedications to the search of Brahman (by the sages); these have sustained the Mother Earth for ages
1.2: She, Who is to us the Consort of the Past and the Future , May She expand our inner life in this World towards the Cosmic Lifes.
2.1:Who extends Unimpeded Freedom to Human Beings through Her Mountains, Slopes and Plains,
2.2: She bears many Plants and Medicinal Herbs of various Potencies; May She extend Her Riches to us .
yasyāṃ samudra uta sindhurāpo yasyāmannaṃ kṛṣṭayaḥ saṃbabhūvuḥ .
yasyāmidaṃ jinvati prāṇadejatsā no bhūmiḥ pūrvapeye dadhātu ..3..
3.1: In Her is woven together Ocean and River Waters; in Her is contained Food which She manifests when ploughed,
3.2: In Her indeed is alive all Lives; May She bestow us with that Life.
4.1: In Her resides the Four Directions of the World; in Her is contained Food which She manifests when Ploughed,
4.2: She sustains the various Lives living in Her; May She, the Mother Earth, bestow on us the Ray of Life present even in Food.
5.1: In Her our Forefathers lived and performed in earlier times; in Her the Devas overturned the Asuras,
5.2: In Her lived the Cows, Horses, Birds; May She, the Mother Earth, bestow on us Prosperity and Splendour.
6.1: She is Vishwambhara, She is Vasudhaa, She is Pratishtha , She is Hiranyavaksha and the Dwelling Place of the World,
6.2: She holds the Vaishvanara (The Universal Fire) within Her, the Fire which empowers Indra and Rishabha; May the Mother Earth bestow on us .
7.1: Her, the Devas protect sleeplessly with vigilence, She Who is the All-Giving Mother Earth,
7.2: May She milk for us that delightful Honey which gives the great Splendour .
8.1: Sitting above Sea as well as Lying immersed in its Waters , the Sages pursued Her by Supernatural Powers ,
8.2:The Heart of Mother Earth lies in the Highest Vyoman (Spiritual Sky) enveloped by Truth and Immortality,
8.3: May She, the Mother Earth, bestow Her Splendorous Vigour on us and our great Kingdom.
9.1: In Her the Waters flow on all sides Day and Night with Vigilence,
9.2: May She, the Mother Earth give us the Milk of Her abundant streams, and moisten us with its Splendour.
यामश्विनावमिमातां विष्णुर्यस्यां विचक्रमे ।
इन्द्रो यां चक्र आत्मनेऽनमित्रां शचीपतिः ।
सा नो भूमिर्वि सृजतां माता पुत्राय मे पयः ॥१०॥
yāmaśvināvamimātāṃ viṣṇuryasyāṃ vicakrame .
indro yāṃ cakra ātmane'namitrāṃ śacīpatiḥ .
sā no bhūmirvi sṛjatāṃ mātā putrāya me payaḥ ..10..
10.1: Her, the Ashwins have measured out In Her Vishnu strode,
10.2: Indra, the husband of Shachi, made Her Soul free from Enemies,
10.3: May She pour forth Her Milk with kindness as a Mother does to her Son.
11.1: O Mother Earth, May Your Hills and Snow-Clad Mountains ; May Your Forests spread its delight within us,
11.2: You present a Vishwarupa with Your many colours - Babhru -Brown , Krishna- Blue, Rohini- Red; O Mother Earth,
You are like Dhruva - Firm and Immovable; And You are protected by Indra,
11.3: Which is Unconquered, Unslayed and Unbroken Whole, I stand firm .
यत्ते मध्यं पृथिवि यच्च नभ्यं यास्त ऊर्जस्तन्वः संबभूवुः ।
तासु नो धेह्यभि नः पवस्व माता भूमिः पुत्रो अहं पृथिव्याः ।
पर्जन्यः पिता स उ नः पिपर्तु ॥१२॥
yatte madhyaṃ pṛthivi yacca nabhyaṃ yāsta ūrjastanvaḥ saṃbabhūvuḥ .
tāsu no dhehyabhi naḥ pavasva mātā bhūmiḥ putro ahaṃ pṛthivyāḥ .
parjanyaḥ pitā sa u naḥ pipartu ..12..
12.1: In Your Center, O Mother Earth, is Your Navel from which the Vital Power emanates and spreads out,
12.2: Absorb us in that Power and Purify us, O Bhoomi Mata, I am the Son of Mother Earth,
12.3: Parjanya (Rain God) is my Father, may he fill us.
13.1:In Her, Bhoomi has spread Herself as the sacrificial Altar; In Her, all the activities of the World has spread themselves as Yagya,
13.2: In Her, from the beginning, the Sounds of the World during Oblations rises up and disappears in the Purifying upper layers ,
13.3: May the Expansion provided by the Earth, expand .
यो नो द्वेषत्पृथिवी यः पृतन्याद्योऽभिदासान्मनसा यो वधेन ।
तं नो भूमे रन्धय पूर्वकृत्वरि ॥१४॥
yo no dveṣatpṛthivī yaḥ pṛtanyādyo'bhidāsānmanasā yo vadhena .
taṃ no bhūme randhaya pūrvakṛtvari ..14..
14.1: He who hates us, O Earth, he who attacks us or mentally considers us as Enemies, or he who strikes us,
14.2: Him, O Mother Earth, subdue, as You have done since earliest times.
15.1: Produced by You, those Moving about in You, those Two-Footed and (Fourth) those Four-Footed ones;whom You bear in the land of Mortality,
15.2: Fifth is the Manava, from whom the Light of Immortality emanates from the land of Mortality, which O Mother Earth, You diffuse with the Rays of the rising Sun.
17.1: The Herbs which are like Mothers of the World grows on the Immovable Earth; the Earth which is held by Dharma,
17.2:and in which Auspiciousness gently pervades throughout the World.
mahatsadhasthaṃ mahatī babhūvitha mahānvega ejathurvepathuṣṭe .
mahāṃstvendro rakṣatyapramādam .
sā no bhūme pra rocaya hiraṇyasyeva saṃdṛśi mā no dvikṣata kaścana ..18..
18.1: Great is this Place where we stand together; Mighty is the Force present in it, which controls its Great Speed of Movement and Shaking,
18.2: Great is the God Indra who protects Her with Vigilence,
18.3: May She the Bhoomi , make us lustrous like Gold so that we do not see anyone with the attitude of Hatred
